Issue Statement 7: Conformation showing
- The Council believes that MLPH gene carrying Labrador Retrievers should continue to be allowed full access and equal treatment in all AKC events, including conformation. If antagonists to the MLPH gene carrying Labrador Retrievers at the LRC are unwilling to compete on equal footing, we advocate for “dilute-only” conformation classes with eligibility to earn championship points and Championship titles.
- The Council challenges the LRC assertion that MPLH gene expressing Labradors are a disqualification under the breed standard.
